More precise, it is Gert Christiaens that brews himself on location at Boon - with original Henri Vandervelden recipes (Hence Oud Beersel being categorized within the Brew Firm category). Unique, traditional, authentic Lambic is the wonderful result! From Boon, the wort is transported to Oud Beersel where the spontaneous fermentation, and ageing into wooden casks can begin - See also ... This is a temporary measure until the new brewery at Oud Beersel is ready. During the last six months, Oud Beersel got quite some big international recognition, and this with three prestigious prices. It is the Oude Geuze from Oud Beersel that obtained at the end of 2007 the title beingWorld's Best Geuze. This beer also achieved Silver at the World Beer Cup 2008 - See also.... Recently, the Oude Kriek Oud Beersel has been prized by Ratebeer with a Golden Medal.
