Hello,
This morning, I updated the www.babbierproevers.be website, and included a page with intersting info about the new beer fest that will happen this year on 15 and 16 September in Bruges.
http://www.babbierproevers.be/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=33
Note that up till know the info is completely in Dutch language, but I will do my best to translate and give it in English.
Cheers,

Great up-to-date news for the Belgian Beer Lover.
As already mentioned: On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September 2007, The Bruges Autonomous Beertasters will organise, in co-operation with the municipality of Bruges, the first Bruges Beer Festival.

40 breweries and beer firms will present their beers.

Apart from 5 Trappist breweries and some artisanal Gueuze blenders and brewers, you will encounter the best from Belgian's Beer landscape.

1 British brewery will also take the challenge to participate ! Thanks podge !

At the entrance, one can buy a tasting glass (15cl) at ? 3.00 and tokens at ? 1.00 each.
This will give the chance to choose from more than 100 different beers.
Mostly, the brewer will be present at his stand, so perfect to ask questions and give remarks.
The objective is to take the glass with you during the visit to the festival.  At every stand, one can give their glass, which will be cleaned and filled with the desired beer. One beer = one token. The glass can be taken home as a souvenir.

Apart from beer tasting, different side activities are organized:

 - Cuisine Culinair with 8 topchefs (4 per day) who will cook gastronomic with beer.

 - Outer terrace at the innercourt of the Belfry (unique!).

 - Beer-culinary cuisine : several chefs prepare small beer dishes which can be tasted.

 - Carillon concerts

 - Beer-recitations with, on regular points of time, an interactive debate, and this with prominent people from the beer world.

 -Child fun corner

Not to miss : Historic Rooms of the Belfry complex on the market at Bruges.
Every day from 12.00.
Saturday till 22.00 - Sunday till 21.00.

All info: www.brugsbierfestival.be

WHEN
Weekend of 15 and 16 September 2007  -  exact hours will follow

WHERE
Halls of Bruges on the Grand Place. (The Belfry) (http://www.belgiumview.com/belgiumview/tl1/view0001201.php4)

As you've noticed, a brand new website will be launched mid-june !
www.brugsbierfestival.be
At this moment, a redirection towards the babbierproevers bruges beer fest page has been achieved, but this will change to a stand-alone website.
Watch out !!
Cheers,

Hi,
Here's a small reward for the loyal BBB forum visitors.
A sneak preview of the Bruges Beer Fest, held last weekend.
The picture report is partly ready, and published (already) here.
Lucky, I have a free day from work  :hello2:
Around 200 pictures !
As mentioned, the picture report is not ready yet, as some small comments still have to be published. Please, keep quiet about the report.
The 1th. Bruges Beer Fest was phenomenal, amazing, fantastic, name it.
A wonderful success for the organizers. This was truely a magnificent beerfestival. More comments will follow on the picture report...... watch out.....
The link: http://www.babbierproevers.be/bbf07/
Have fun watching..... Sorry, there's no way I can deliver the beers here  :happy7:
BTW: It's DEFINITE NOT SURE that the next edition will happen on 15 and 16 November 2008.
Cheers,

Cheers,

BIG ERROR !!!!!
With uploading the picture report to the www.babbierproevers.be website, I completely forgot the bandwith regulation. In two days, the bandwith was already reached and the website isn't consultable anymore till Oktober the first.
I just installed 2 new links to watch the huge Bruges Beer Fest picture report:
http://fotoreportage.brugsbierfestival.be (thanks to www.webdoos.be) or via http://www.brugsbierfestival.be/nl/laatste_nieuws-168.html
and http://trappist.12gbfree.com/bbf07/ (thanks to the free providers)
This should solve all problems. My apologizes for the inconvenient.
btw: Starting from 1 Oktober, the www.babbierproevers.be website will be on-line again.
A scoop here: The beer of the month will be Cuv?e des Trolls from bry. Dubuisson.

Cheers,

I was probably part of it.  It took a long time to view all the pix!  Nice report, though.  Makes me anxious to get back to Belgium!  See you in a couple of weeks!

Hi,
Just to mention that the line here above can be considered CRAP ! One of the members of administration BAB had told me the dates were not set yet.
Now it is definite sure that the dates are set.
Interesting to notice that the city of Bruges will completely give its support this time. The whole Belfry is hired already !! More place, more beers ! BIGGER fest.
The objective of Bruges is to become the city of the "Week van de Smaak" (The Week of the Taste) that will happen around 15 November ! http://www.weekvandesmaak.be
The combination Bruges Beer Fest - Week of the Taste is just perfect !!
Cheers,
