Our final day folks..

Today we fly home but not until the late afternoon so there's still plenty of time to explore some of of favourite spots it town.
A nice stroll across town towards the Nyhavn area and en route enjoyed a little stop  off at one of Copenhagens famous and numerous hot dog stalls...we opted for the classic with mustard, remoulade, chopped onions, crispy onions, chopped gherkins and pickled cucumber - absolutely delicious






Exploring the very picturesque and colourful Nyhavn harbour area (very much the tourist hot spot, complete with tourist prices) we made our way towards the open water and popped into the Tipsy Mermaid for a beer on a boat.






It may not have the best beer list and prices slightly on the tourist side but for just the one it's hard to beat, to sit there as the boat gently rocked back and forth with the sun peeking from behind the clouds and boats pass by, its a half hour  well spent.










All good things come to an end and as the dark clouds gathered overhead we headed back in the direction of our hotel we detoured off towards Peders, that most wonderful cellar bar with one of the best tap lists in town.

This is a place you don't just stumble across, you make a special trip here. It's off the well trodden tourist track and is VERY easy to walk right past.






The stairs down to the cellar bar - small and steep with memories of 't Poatersgat in Bruges.








Linda picked ma an absolute thumper to start with, from Jackie O's their Iron Furnace. A massive 13.6% Barley Wine brewed with brown sugar and maple syrup then aged in Bourbon Barrels...what a beer, so rich and sticky it was a true sipper.

With the rain beating it down outside to sit in this cosy candle lit cellar bar with an indulgent beer proved a real Hygge moment.




One final Peders beer and it was one from Bad Seed, the brewery that our friend Peter Vad Godtberg Jensen works at and their No Fuzz, Simcoe. A 7% American IPA that was full of pineapple and grapefruit.




Storm clouds passed we made our way back to our hotel, our time in Copenhagen was drawing to an end but...just...one...last...beer.





There we have it, another amazing trip to beautiful Copenhagen (and equally beautiful Malmö) just over three days filled to the brim with wonderful beery memories of amazing beers in some amazing bars in some stunning locations and shared with some magnificent people.

This place really holds that special place in both our hearts, if one half is Belgian then the other half is Danish 🇧🇪🇩🇰❤️
