Today we take things at a somewhat slower pace and stick to the Vesterbro area of town, after partying the night away our final full day will be a bit more gentle 
So after another wonderful Danish breakfast we did a bit of food shopping (gotta stock up on Smørrebrod ingredients) before heading back in the direction of Warpigs but that would be later because we were in the mood for something sweet and just as you enter the meat packing area you'll find one of Copenhagen's most hyped modern bakeries - Harts (whenever you walk past it's always packed) and because of the glorious weather the outside seating area was jam packed but luckily a small table inside had just become free so quickly we nipped in.
The smell was absolutely incredible - freshly baked bread, sweet pastries and roasted coffee beans.
My choice was a Rhubarb pastry filled with crème patisserie and rhubarb jam (the jam was insane) with an extra strong coffee we sat and soaked up the Hygge, for us the food is as important as the beer.
Time to pick up a few more special beers and Kihøsk is where we headed. From the outside this unassuming looking coffee shop looks like any other general store however it's popularity tells you it's something that bit special because hiding in the cellar is a jaw dropping selection of beers from all around the world - in fact they take their beer so seriously that they have a walk in fridge just to keep their IPA's in tip top condition.
There you have beers from Anchorage in America and their extremely limited barrel aged Imperial Stout and Barley Wine - 950 and 999 Danish Kronor, that's £115 and £125 each 
Very special beers bought (the Anchorage stayed on the shelf) it was food time and Warpigs it was, it was barbecue time. During the festival the line for food stretches the length of Warpigs but now a lot of people have gone home it far more relaxed and so Smoked Brisket, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Szechuan Chicken Wings and my favourite their Burnt End Beans.
Now even though MBCC is over there's still some fantastic beers available on tap and in bottles and Warpigs were selling off glasses of Mead from Superstition at at "special price" left over from a tasting during the festival.
Leaving Warpigs behind it was more from Mikkeller and his original bar on Viktoriagade and just like before special beers were still available so we had a couple from Funky Fluid from Poland...

A quick pit stop at our hotel to finish off packing we then set off keeping in Viktoriagade but heading in a new direction we headed to another new "to us" bar - JoJo, not for beers but for cocktails.
A cocktail bar with a simple pricing and simple serving technique, all cocktails are 50 Kroner. Now we're not cocktails made to order in a cocktail shaker, here as you order each glass has a unique garnish added (pandan leaf, lime, grapefruit) so the bartender knows what to fill your glass with...simple and super speedy.
Time to head back in the direction of our hotel to visit its sister hotel The Absalon to spend our Green Scheme tokens, free beers or rather free cocktails and this time is was the real deal, freshly made with fresh ingredients...I had to go for a Pina Colada 🍹
As the evening was drawing to and end we decided to finish the day at ÅBEN and no surprises it was packed outside but inside a bit calmer.
We really do have a soft spot for this place, it's industrial yet so Danish at the same time and they brew some of the best beers you'll find in Copenhagen.

What a wonderful final full day in town exploring the areas surrounding our hotel, visiting bars old and new.
Tomorrow we head home but not until late afternoon so plenty of time for some last minute stuff.
Monday
Today we head home but seeing as we don't need to set off for the airport until 6pm it meant we had plenty of time for one last explore.
Stowing our bags in the hotel lockup we set off for our final explore of beautiful sunny Copenhagen and headed across the City Hall Square and to the Støget area, a pedestrian shopping zone famous for its patterned granite flooring.
It was here that we noticed that there was a fun run in full swing, as we made our way to the picturesque waterfront area of Nyhavn all surrounding roads were closed to vehicles and instead filled with families, the young and the old all taking part in the Royal Run 26.
Talk about the perfect weather, this area is always the busiest in town but this time it was at bursting point.
Time for a beer and yes it's "beer on a boat" time with a visit to The Tipsy Mermaid - a 60 year old wooden ex fishing boat that retired in 2008, she's now known as Molly and is permanently moored with her sister ship Crux.
Sitting on the covered top deck seating area as the boat gently rocked back and forth with the sun beating down was another of those picture perfect moments.
Sadly it's time to make our way back towards our hotel, drinking in every sight and sound but maybe we could have just one last goodbye beer, a final toast to this magnificent city.

We bid our farewells with a couple of Yippie house beers and reminisced on what an absolutely mental, fantastic, memorable, mind blowing 5 days it had been.
So there's 5 days in Copenhagen (and Malmö) two cities that are well and truly embedded in both our hearts (like our beloved Bruges) places that you will never tire of visiting year after year.
I know it's an overused sentence but this is the best MBCC yet...the stunning beers, the festival, the people (and friends) the countless memorable encounters, the sights, just everything fitted together perfectly and even the weather was beautiful.
Yes we've already booked time off work for next years festival HOWEVER this time we're thinking of splitting our time between the two and spending Friday and Saturday in Copenhagen and then Sunday and Monday in Malmö but it's only a plan.
